SENEX Pictor · The Painter's Easel

A night of sky, stacked over a sharp foreground.

Pictor turns a folder of RAW frames from a night shoot into one finished image. The sky is stacked for clean, deep stars; the ground keeps the exposure and sharpness you shot it with.

Pictor's Compare screen: the six steps listed on the left, a night scene with the Milky Way over a treeline in the middle, and side-by-side crops of the darkest sky and the brightest star on the right.

Six steps, one window. Each screen shows why, not just what.

The same engine on the command line. For batches and scripts.

pictor process ~/Nights/2026-10-12 ~/Nights/2026-10-12-out

One command checks the folder, picks the recommended run, aligns, stacks and renders final.jpg and final.tif. Run it again into the same folder and it carries on where it stopped.
